News You Need
To Know Now!!!
NEW!!!
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE 2008 A
FANTASTIC YEAR!!!
As the Assistant Director, Webmaster, and Coach
of SVB 18, I would personally like to thank the Players, Parents,
Coaches (including Heather and Paul) and of course Bonney who worked
extremely hard to make this a successful season. I can't do any of
my jobs successfully without the support of everyone in this program.
Thank you!!!
We were able to overcome a few negative issues
during the season because in the end there was a trust and belief that
we could still make this program better. By the end of the season
each team had improved to where they were competing for division titles.
At Regional, SVB 14 took 1st in the Silver Division, SVB 16 took 1st in
the Bronze Division, and SVB 18 took 4th in the Gold Division. An
amazing job by each team to work hard and improve, congratulations for
your victories. I know in talking to Sissy, Bethy, and Ryan, we
are all going to miss our teams and are already talking about how to
make this program even better next year so everyone will want to come
back.
As the SVB 18 Coach, I would like to send a
special thanks to my team for setting the example for which the other
girls in our program can look up to. You made SVB 18 into a team
that worked hard, competed at everything, never gave up, and above all
cared for one another. I'm extremely proud to say I was your
coach. You are all amazing girls and your parents should be very
proud of you. Parents, you have raised incredible girls and and it
was my privilege to have met every single one of you. Again I
thank you.
Good luck to everyone on their next adventures.
Some of you will go off to college, but most of you will go back to high
school. I know all of you will be great in whatever you go on to
do and we look forward to seeing you next year.
Let's get ready for 2009!!!
That's right, 2009. It's a perfect time to start
thinking about next year because it's never to early to plan ahead. In order to reassure everyone that
we are constantly trying to improve, we are going to post as much
information as possible on our website. Here are some of the
things that are in the works:
Dates and Times
Information Meeting
To be held in October to introduce our program to Players and Parents
that are interested in trying out for us or need more information about
the club process.
This will help us grow and ensure we have a larger tryout for each team.
NEW!!!
Possibly the week of October 6th on either Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday
starting around 6pm.
Tryouts

Rules, Concepts, and Playing Systems)

Coaches
We would like to find a few more coaches to help us grow. We're
looking to possibly add a U15 and U17 team to our program that will
round out our program and allow us to grow from within.
We're
planning on the return of the current coaching staff with Erik Champoux
as the head coach of the SVB 18 team still.
Coordinators (who will work with Bonney and Erik throughout the
season)
Travel Coordinator- Heather
Burglund will be the main person in charge of travel but we'll need
team liaisons that will work with her for Travel to
Yakima, Spokane, and Reno.
A Parent meeting will be held within the first 2
weeks of December to get everyone organized.
Tournament Coordinator- In charge of
Tournament Registrations and Information for all teams.
Practice Coordinator- In charge of finding Gym space for
practices and setting up Schedules.
Smack Uniform Ordering
We plan to have sizes at tryouts so everyone will know what they need to
order.
Everything will be ordered in the first 2 weeks of December so we can
get everything at the beginning of January, before our first
Tournaments.
Again, this is just a starting point for next year. Our staff
will be meeting to discuss these issues and many more in the next few
months. We are dedicated to improving where we need to.
Getting organized now will only ensure we can grow and improve the way
we intend to. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

A story everyone should read
This story was sent to me by a very good friend and old assistant coach
of mine and illustrates our programs belief that winning isn't
everything, it's how you play the game. Please read it.
